Founder Dan Evins, a Tennessee oil jobber, envisioned a restaurant and retail operation themed around old-time country stores, where people gathered to play checkers on barrels once used to deliver crackers.

If not employees, these talented people are individual jobbers.

But if there’s one thing I learned from his memoir, it’s that the guy’s a mensch, and one with a solid regard for jobbers on a deadline.

“It was really about that – capturing those moments that hadn't been captured on film before and then just reveling in them and getting to know the jobber, too,” Rowe explained.

On their road trip journey across the country, they’ll revisit past jobbers and tell new stories that add to the legend of the “Dirty Jobs” name.
