Look back and you see the beach, the pier and the hills of the central coast sprawling beyond them.

That shifting setting creates often surprising variations in sensation and perspective, enabled by diverse vegetation, hills, a long pond, deep groves and, of course, thick rows of vines.

The rebellion claimed thousands of lives, displaced generations and militarised the lush, Christian-majority hills.

Following clues picked up from Instagram, I climbed some hills above the town’s main street and wandered through a quiet residential neighborhood, looking for his bar.

There may also be a touch of wintriness over the highest hills of northern England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
