Throughout the weekend, participants watched live demos from speakers and they were given time to cook up beats of their own.

McCartney most recently won a Grammy for rock performance for “Now and Then,” the single billed as the final Beatles track, which was recovered from demos with the help of cutting-edge mix technology.

It’s a sequel of sorts to 1998’s “Tracks,” which offered up demos and outtakes to fill out the story of one of music’s most prolific and meticulous songwriters.

Sometimes they’re not games at all but rather tech demos designed to show off, say, the rumble vibration effects in the controllers.

Some of the other games in “Welcome Tour” are essentially demos.
